Surfactants:
Surfactants are widely used in soaps, laundry detergents, dishwashing liquids, personal care products (such as shampoos), in lubricants, emulsion polymerization, textile processing, mining flocculates, petroleum recovery and wastewater treatment.
They act by lowering the surface tension between two liquids or between a liquid and a solid and may act as detergents, wetting agents, emulsifiers, foaming agents, and dispersants.
Most surfactants in use today are still largely petroleum-based, being produced from fossil raw materials.
Petroleum based surfactants are generally slow to decompose and therefore can be damaging to the environment.
GBS's Solutions provide significant opportunities to replace chemical surfactants with non-toxic sustainably produced alternatives.
GBS Products are fully and readily biodegraded which means that they are significantly less damaging to the environment than most of the petrochemical based surfactants.
They also have an ability to withstand high temperatures, to tolerate both fresh water and saltwater environments and varying pH’s.
These qualities makes GBS Products more attractive and “green” and “environmentally friendly” alternative to most chemical based surfactants.
